Krista Roop Added to Exclusive Registry's Roster

Ms. Roop received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Virginia Tech

Blacksburg, VA, November 18, 2009 /University PR News/ -- Krista Roop, an outstanding graduate student at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in her studies and her commitment to community service.

While pursuing her Master of Arts in Secondary Education, Krista Roop is also working on a project to bridge the gap between the tutoring programs extended by Virginia Tech and students in Blacksburg County. She also played a part in 'The House That Tech Built' project through which participants constructed a beautiful home for a local low-income family. Through her work with Montgomery County schools, she will soon be teaching in conjunction with the Robert Noyce Scholarship program.

Krista's creative side shines as she teaches tap dancing to students ages 5 to 65 at the Center of Dance in Blacksburg and serves as a rank captain of Virginia Tech's Marching Virginians. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her parents and the people with whom she has been associated.

Ms. Roop received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Virginia Tech. She is president of the Tap Ensemble at Virginia Tech and a member of Phi Sigma Pi. She is the recipient of the Robert Noyce Scholarship and the Virginia Teaching Scholarship. Down the road, Ms. Roop hopes to teach in a Virginia school while continuing her tap dance instruction.
