Dr. Lelia M. T. Allen celebrates 52 years in higher education
LAPLATA, MD, December 22, 2009 /University PR News/ --Dr. Lelia M. T. Allen, Professor at the College of Southern Maryland, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
As a professor at the College of Southern Maryland, Dr. Allen is responsible for teaching education, general psychology, life span development and other assigned courses, supervising education interns and developing special workshops for other divisions. She attributes her success to the influence of her parents, who placed an emphasis on the importance of education.
Dr. Allen received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Pittsburg in 1992, her Ed.D. in Educational Adminstration from Florida State Christian University in 1972, her Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1965 and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Fayetteville State University in 1956. She is a member of the National Education Association and the National Coalition Building Institute.
