Rose M. Rivera, CMA, C.Ph., to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Rose M. Rivera recognized as a leading professional in medical assistance and instruction
ELYRIA, OH, April 13, 2010 /University PR News/ --Rose M. Rivera, Adjunct Faculty at Lorain County Community College and Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist for Erie Coast Chest Physicians, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in medical assistance and instruction.
A dedicated healthcare professional, Rose M. Rivera's expertise is in medical assistance and coding. She recently embarked on a second career as a teacher, buoyed by the encouragement and confidence of her mentor, Cindy Watkins. Now an adjunct faculty member at LCCC, she works with students in the medical laboratory and assists them with checking for vital signs and conducting blood tests. She also works for Erie Coast Chest Physicians, where she deals with patients and prepares medical histories. A factory worker for 32 years, Ms. Rivera found her calling in teaching after Ms. Watkins persuaded her to assist in a grant program. Named Professional of the Year in Medical Assistance & Instruction by Cambridge Who's Who, she attributes her success to her mentor's faith and her husband's support.
Herself a product of Lorain County Community College, Ms. Rivera obtained an associate of science in medical assisting, with a concentration in clinical studies, in 2007, an associate of science in medical assisting, with a concentration in administrative studies, in 2006, and an associate of arts in business in 1981. She is also a Certified Medical Assistant and a Certified Phlebotomist. She is a member of the American Business Women's Association and an instructor with the Ohio Wildlife Association. In her spare time, Ms. Rivera volunteers with her local fire and police departments and with the American Heart Association. Looking ahead, she aspires to become a full-time faculty instructor in pharmacology, medical coding and medical assisting.
