Roehampton University offers a wide range of scholarships for international students, including full scholarships that cover tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses, as well as partial fee discounts for eligible students.
LONDON, ENGLAND, June 19, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Roehampton University offers a wide range of scholarships for international students, including full scholarships that cover tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses, as well as partial fee discounts for eligible students. The University believes in making education as accessible as possible to a wide range of prospective students, and believes that previous academic performance, as an indicator of future performance, should be rewarded.
Two full scholarships are offered to prospective students, the Commonwealth Scholarship and the Sacred Heart Scholarship. Through the Commonwealth Scholarship, an outstanding student from an eligible developing country in the Commonwealth that decides to study the MA course in Human Rights and International Relations, can have all their tuition fees paid for, as well as a travel allowance and a contribution to living expenses, provided they meet further conditions.
Roehampton University and the Society of the Sacred Heart have a scholarship fund aimed at encouraging postgraduate study and research in academic fields which promote international understanding. A scholarship covering all tuition fees and living expenses is available to candidates who have a history of excellent academic performance, from both the UK and outside the UK, regardless of discipline.
Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships are automatically awarded to applicants according to their previous academic performance. Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships involve a fee discount of 20% or 15%. The fee discount is automatically awarded when the applicant meets specific requirements in one of four areas.
For undergraduate courses, requirements include IELTS performance, UK A-levels or International Baccalaureate performance, or performance in other international qualifications. Students just need to submit their course application form to be considered for scholarship. Postgraduate courses require a higher IELTS score as well as a minimum of a 2:1 honours grade from a UK university, or equivalent grade from an international university.
There is also the Roehampton University 2025 Scholarship, a GBP4,000 fee discount available to 20 students at all levels of study including postgraduate research. Applicants need to demonstrate the ability to contribute significantly to the community at Roehampton University, as well as previous exceptional academic performance. The GBP4,000 discount is made in the first year of the study; the scholarship cannot be used in combination with other scholarships.
Roehampton University also offers an Alumni Discount of GBP750 on tuition fees, available to all alumni who have completed a full course of study, which includes exchange programmes. This discount is applied to the first year of study and can be combined with the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship.
