Aaron James Tabor Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Aaron James Tabor is a Graduate Student and Lead Researcher at Northern Arizona University
FLAGSTAFF, AZ, January 26, 2010 /University PR News/ --Aaron James Tabor, Graduate Student at Northern Arizona University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
Mr. Tabor is a full-time graduate student in a Master's Degree/Ph.D. program in Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology at NAU. He is a lead researcher at the university, one of only eight selected, and receives his funding from the National Science Foundation, of which he is a fellow. In addition to his academic and research work, Mr. Tabor does presentations for the NSF at elementary schools, middle schools and high schools to get students interested in the sciences. Honors of which he is a recipient include a Gold Axe Award for Outstanding Leadership and Development from NAU, a Ken Duke Memorialship, and a Mind, Body and Spirit Award from the Young Men's Christian Association. He attributes his success to his self-motivation, self-determination, and drive to excel.
A graduate of NAU, Mr. Tabor earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a Pre-Health emphasis and a minor in Chemistry and Psychology, in 2008. He has held positions of leadership at APA, Theta Chi, Gamma Beta Phi, Sigma Alpha Lambda, the Blue Key Honor Society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Away from work, he now volunteers at The Mayo Clinic and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He also enjoys practicing martial arts, snowboarding, and spending time at the beach. Mr. Tabor plans to attend medical school within the next five years, and aspires to one day teach at either a medical school or a teaching hospital.
