Dr. Judd A. Katz Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals
Dr. Judd A Katz served at Auburn University Montgomery for 34 years
MONTGOMERY, January 22, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Dr. Judd A. Katz, Professor Emeritus of Psychology (Retired) of Auburn University Montgomery, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in psychology.
Now retired, Dr. Katz has 34 years of experience in teaching psychology, and in university administration. He worked as the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic affairs Auburn University Montgomery and was the interim Vice chancellor in his last year at the University. He was inspired by fellow psychologists to pursue a path in the rehabilitation field. He was one of a few psychologists to present a paper at the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers in 1989 and co-owns a patent for a modification to the myoelectric artificial arm. He was also an Air Force historian and interviewed three of the six Air Force enlisted Medal of Honor recipients and has published articles on the Airmen's accomplishments. He attributes his success to his tenacity and support of his friends.
Dr. Katz received his doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Georgia in 1975 and master's degree from Arizona State University. He is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a university honor society, and the Reserve Officers Association. In his retirement he volunteers at the Montgomery Veterans' Hospital, Department of Physical Medicine and Occupational Therapy. He is also a board member with Volunteers of America, Human Rights sub-committee.
