HUNTINGTON, WV, January 15, 2010 /University PR News/ --Dr. Rosalyn Anstine Templeton, Executive Dean of the College of Education and Human Services of Marshall University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education administration.

A 25-year veteran of the academe, Dr. Templeton is best noted for her skills in crisis intervention. In her current position, she is responsible primarily for overseeing all academic and service programs involving the School of Kinesiology, the School of Human Development and Allied Technology, the Graduate School of Education, and the School of Education. She is also in charge of managing operations for 15 centers that fulfill students' various needs, including the National Autism Training Center, the Child Development Academy, the Early Childhood Center, the Center for Crisis Intervention and the Harlis Center.

Lauded for the changes that she made in the College of Education and Human Services, Dr. Templeton is credited for advancing the creation of a state academy for science, technology, education and mathematics on campus and for strictly enforcing graduation requirements for students in the School of Education. She was also known for her collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Education in a major statewide initiative to raise the education level from prekindergarten to 12th grade. Dr. Templeton attributes the success that she enjoyed at multiple stages of her career to hailing from a family with strong female role models and from having had the support of excellent mentors.

Dr. Templeton earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Policy Studies in 1990 from the University of Oregon. Additionally, she received her Master of Education in Special Education for the Emotionally Disturbed in 1985 from The American University and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education, with a concentration in Reading, in 1984 from Southern Oregon University. She is a member of the Learning Environment Segment of the American Education Research Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. She gives generously to organizations committed to abuse prevention in Peoria, IL.
