Thomas P. Karolewski Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Thomas P. Karolewski is very proud of his contributions to the education field and to prosthetics
CHICAGO, IL, January 28, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Thomas P. Karolewski, Director of Prosthetics Education at Northwestern University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
Mr. Karolewski has 24 years of overall professional experience. As director of prosthetics education, he is responsible for handling all administrative duties, developing curriculum, and overseeing the activities of the assistant director. He is also maintains online classes, and runs three blended learning classes a year including an online study and clinicals. Attributing his success to his perseverance, he started out his career as a kineseotherapist at a veterans administration hospital and gradually developed his interest for the prosthetics field.
In 1986, Mr. Karolewski received his certificate of training in prosthetics from Northwestern University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Special Education and Kinesiotherapy, with a minor in Psychology and Coaching, from University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, he is pursuing his Master of Arts in Curriculum Development and Instruction from Concordia University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists, and a member of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics, and the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
Mr. Karolewski received the Outstanding Educator Award in 2005 as well as the Fellow Award in 2002 from the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics. He received the Quarter Century Award from the American Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance in 2009.
