EDINBURG, TX, November 11, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Dr. Glen D. Moyes, DBA, Professor of Accounting for The University of Texas-Pan American's College of Business Administration, has been recognized as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of higher education.
Dr. Glen D. Moyes is a well-recognized professional in financial and managerial accounting. He has over 30 years' experience, during which time, he has authored 40 articles in academic and practitioner journals and presented papers at approximately 35 international, national and regional conferences. Dr. Moyes is an authority on auditing techniques, fraud detection, auditor impaired independence, substandard audit performance, earnings estimate revisions, and ethics, gender and racial issues. Since 1991, he has created 20 different databases with information gathered using questionnaires pertaining to such areas. His research has generated wide acclaim in the world of academia, and he has been honored with eight research grants totaling $30,000. He has also served as a journal article reviewer, a conference reviewer and a moderator.
Currently, Dr. Moyes teaches at The University of Texas-Pan America as a Professor of Accounting on the topics of external auditing, accounting theory, and advanced, financial, managerial and cost accounting. He is also involved in researching the perceptions of auditors concerning the fraud-detecting effectiveness of 42 red flags. With more than 110 citations (according to Google Scholar), Dr. Moyes will seek to publish additional articles and books in the years to come. For his success to date, he credits his project-oriented nature and the support he receives from his parents.
Dr. Moyes earned a bachelor of science in management from The University of Utah, an MBA from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Alliant International University. He sits on the Board of Directors of Texas Society of CPAs' Rio Grande Valley Chapter and maintains membership in the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association and The Institute of Internal Auditors, to name a few.
