Jill L. Levenson is heavily invested in Shakespearean literature, research and education
TORONTO, ON, CANADA, December 23, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Jill L. Levenson, Professor of English at Trinity College, the University of Toronto, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
At Trinity College, the University of Toronto, Dr. Levenson serves as an English professor. In this capacity, she is responsible for instructing graduate and undergraduate students. Additionally, she organizes meetings, develops coursework and conducts research. She has 43 years of experience in the field of education and is an expert in Shakespearean literature. Dr. Levenson organizes and books global conferences for the International Shakespeare Association and has published scholarly articles and books on the author and his contemporaries. She is also a specialist in modern drama.
She owns two standard poodles, who accompany her to work every day. Additionally, she brings them to Ph.D. committee meetings, where they serve as informal therapy dogs; she believes that they help reduce stress and nervous energies.
In 1967, Dr. Levenson graduated from Harvard University with a Ph.D. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in English at Queens College, CUNY. She belongs to the Modern Language Association, the Shakespeare Association of America and the International Shakespeare Association. Twice, she has been honored by her University with an Award of Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Levenson attributes her success to her teaching methods; she holds high academic standards for her students and enjoys seeing them prevail in their studies.
