Professor Igor Balsim, Ph.D. Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Professor Igor Balsim celebrates 20 years in higher education
BROOKLYN, NY, February 3, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Professor Igor Balsim, Associate Professor at Kingsborough Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
As an associate professor at Kingsborough Community College, Professor Balsim is responsible for teaching mathematics, curriculum development, designing courses, grant writing, conducting research on the relationship between mathematics and biology, publishing articles and journals, and organizing programs. He attributes his success to his people management skills. His specific area of research of applied mathematics is partial differential equations applied to waive theory and optimization problems.
Professor Balsim received his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2001 and his Master's Degree in Mathematics from New York University in 1990. The recipient of an education grant from the National Science Foundation, he intends to continue teaching, develop new courses and do more grant writing, publishing and research work.
