HURST, TX, March 24, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Barbara J. McFarland, Artist and Owner of The Artist's Brush, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in art instruction.
Barbara J. McFarland is an expert painter, having accumulated nearly three decades of practiced experience in the arts. She is best known as the proprietress of The Artist's Brush, a private art school located in Hurst, Texas. Utilizing water colors and mixed media, oils, acrylics and pastels, Ms. McFarland teaches weekly private classes for students wishing to learn to paint both abstract and realistic pieces.
During a candid interview with a representative from Cambridge Publishing, Ms. McFarland recalled making the decision to pursue a career in the arts after taking classes at her local civic center. Shortly after her enrollment, she became the class instructor, which led to her taking formal art classes. Over the course of her career, Ms. McFarland has won numerous awards for her work and was invited to participate in the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Exhibition—an experience of which she is especially proud. In addition to her goal-oriented nature, she credits the success she has enjoyed in her field to her determination and the support of her loving husband.
Ms. McFarland graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas in 1994 with a bachelor of fine arts in painting. Additionally, she completed coursework in local environmental painting at La Romita School of Art in Italy. She is a signature member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society and is an active supporter of Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity and The Humane Society of the United States.
