Elaine M. Bukowiecki, Ed.D. Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Dr. Elaine M. Bukowiecki celebrates 40 years in higher education
BRIDGEWATER, MA, April 6, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Dr. Elaine M. Bukowiecki, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Reading Program at Bridgewater State College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
As an associate professor and coordinator of the graduate reading program at Bridgewater State College, Dr. Bukowiecki specializes in literacy education and professional development. On a daily basis, she is responsible for instructing graduate reading programs, working with prospective students, scheduling semester programs, managing the master's degree programs and the certification programs in advanced study, coordinating services at the academic achievement center and assisting current teachers undergoing second certification programs. Dr. Bukowiecki was an elementary school teacher for 20 years, worked as a language arts coordinator for eight years and then was an adjunct instructor at a college prior to securing her current job. She attributes her success to her hard work and organizational skills.
Dr. Bukowiecki received her Doctor of Education with a concentration in Learning and Literacy from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, from which she graduated magna cum laude in 1999. She is a member of the Southeastern Regional Reading Association, Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts, and the Professors of Reading Teacher Educators. She also serves as president of the Massachusetts Reading Association. She hopes to one day write a professional book for teachers.
