Cheryl Schriver McCoy Honored for Proficiency in Library Collectionn Management
Cheryl Schriver McCoy celebrates 20 years with the University of South Florida
TAMPA, FL, May 18, 2010 /University PR News/ --Cheryl Schriver McCoy, a University Librarian for the University of South Florida, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the management of library services and collections.
Inspired by a love of books, Cheryl Schriver McCoy embarked on her career in libraries almost 25 years ago. Now celebrating her 20th year with the University of South Florida, she manages the library's collection development activities, coordinates the services and collections for government information, and organizes research workshops. Ms. McCoy is recognized for her outreach to faculty and graduate students and is highly sought after to provide research services to graduate students who are working on thesis papers and dissertations. In an effort to keep the library current with the latest literary and scholarly research, she constantly adds to the university's research collection by enhancing the journals, books, and online research collections.
Ms. McCoy enjoys working with graduate students and faculty members in the areas of science and government information. She attributes her success to her diplomacy and conscientious nature. Looking to the future, she intends to reach a greater student population in an effort to share the potential of the university's research library. She hopes that if more students are aware of the resources available to them, they will become more active participants in the research process.
A graduate of the University of South Florida, Ms. McCoy holds a master of arts in library and information science, earned in 1990. She earned a bachelor of arts in history from Florida State University in 1975. Her professional affiliations include the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services and Phi Kappa Phi.
