Alan E. Chapman Honored for Accomplishments in Criminal Justice

Alan E. Chapman is a member of the North American Association of Wardens & Superintendents

    HENRYVILLE, IN, June 17, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Alan E. Chapman, Superintendent for the Indiana Department of Correction, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in criminal justice.

At the Indiana Department of Correction, Mr. Chapman supervises the correctional facility, implements policies and procedures, and manages staff; he conducts meetings and handles a budget. Additionally, Mr. Chapman works as an adjunct professor for Ivy Tech Community College, where he teaches introduction correction courses. Previously, he served as a deputy warden for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. With 23 years of professional experience, he attributes his success to his communication skills.

Mr. Chapman received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Xavier University. He is a member of the American Correctional Association and the North American Association of Wardens & Superintendents. Mr. Chapman has been recognized with a Martin Luther King Freedom and Justice Award from the City of Jeffersonville and a Superintendent of the Year Award. In the future, he hopes to become the superintendent of a larger facility.
