Linda Ann Scura Deemed an Industry Expert in Educational Leadership

ROCHESTER, NY, July 09, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Linda Ann Scura, CEO of Academic Services International, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in educational leadership.
Linda Ann Scura has encountered enough youngsters during her 28-year career to know that taking the standardized examination known as the SAT Reasoning Test (formerly the Scholastic Aptitude Test) is one of the most important events in a high school student's life. Designed to gauge literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills, the examination - in conjunction with academic records and grade point averages - is used primarily to gain college admission and determine merit-based financial aid. As the CEO of Academic Services International, an independent test preparation company, Ms. Scura is in charge of developing the curriculum, managing operations and training teachers, all of whom are certified by the state of New York and possess more than 25 years of experience in their particular fields. Alongside her associates, Ms. Scura helps students prepare for assessment by teaching effective test-taking techniques in writing, grammar and mathematical reasoning. While the curriculum includes a review of basic knowledge within those subject areas, Ms. Scura's teaching philosophy is predicated on more than just rote material delivery; the focus is to develop and increase effective comprehension and time management skills. Ms. Scura holds a bachelor of science from Empire State College and a master's degree in education from Elmira College. She is certified to teach art to kindergarten through 12th grade students by the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District. Her professional affiliations include the Foundation Board of Empire State College, the European Council of International Schools, the National Association for College Admissions Counseling and the American Committees on Foreign Relations. In recognition of outstanding achievements in her field, Ms. Scura was selected for inclusion in "Cambridge Publishing's Top 101 Industry Experts" book - an honor reserved for the registry's most esteemed and accomplished members.
