Daria U. Amato thrives at Northern Virginia Community College
SPRINGFIELD, VA September 21, 2010 /University PR News/ -- Daria U. Amato, Associate Professor of Nursing in the Division of Nursing of Northern Virginia Community College, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Nursing Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
A recognized authority in nursing instruction, Daria U. Amato possesses over three decades of experience in the healthcare education field. Lending 20 years as an Associate Professor of Nursing, Ms. Amato is responsible for lecturing and advising students, monitoring the clinical experiences of students and hosting meetings. She is recognized for her hard work and perseverance and will seek to work to develop a rural and global health affiliate, while developing international curricula, moving forward.
Ms. Amato is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in nursing education at Capella University. She holds a master of science in cardiovascular nursing and management at the Catholic University of America. Additionally, she is a certified nurse educator through the National League for Nursing. In her free time, she volunteer consults for an international nursing education group.
In addition to her work at Northern Virginia Community College, Ms. Amato is a professional affiliate of the following organizations: National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, National League for Nursing, American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International.
